Three-day training programme on Natural Farming  organized at the Central Agricultural University (CAU)

Three-day training programme on Natural Farming was organized at the Central Agricultural University (CAU), Iroisemba, Imphal, aimed at sensitizing and equipping sub-division and district-level officials with the knowledge and practices of sustainable and natural farming methods. The training programme was held from 15/04/2025 to 17/04/2025, with participation from various officials across the state. The initiative was part of an ongoing effort to promote chemical-free agriculture, improve soil health, and ensure long-term food security while protecting the environment. Over 37 officials, including 1 Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), 14 Agriculture Officers, 19 Agriculture Inspectors, 3 Agriculture Field  Assistant (AFA) .

The training was divided into theoretical sessions, field visits, and interactive discussions. On the first day, the introductory followed by technical session was held. Field visit and practical demonstration of various inputs of Natural farming was done on the second day at College of Food technology, CAU Imphal. On the last day, technical and valedictory along with Certificate distribution was held.

Participants appreciated the hands-on approach and clarity of concepts provided during the sessions. The enthusiastic participants are also eager to go back to their districts and sub-division s and implement the concept of natural farming in the grass root level.

The 3-day training programme successfully achieved its intended goals of awareness, capacity building, and planning for the effective promotion of natural farming. CAU, Imphal, has set a strong example by hosting this initiative and creating a collaborative space for academic, administrative, and field-level synergy. Continued support and follow-up activities are recommended to maintain the momentum and translate training into tangible on-ground results.
