IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL e-GOVERNANCE PLAN IN AGRICULTURE IN NAGALAND
NeGP-A, Nagaland: The Government of India approved the Centrally Sponsored scheme National e-Governance Plan Agriculture (NeGP-A) during 2014-15 for Nagaland. The department of Agriculture officially launched NeGP-A on 29th July 2015. This project will make current service delivery mechanism more efficient, transparent and accountable.
The key objectives of the Project includes:
1. Bringing farmer centricity & service orientation to the program
2. Enhancing reach & impact of extension services
3. Improving access of farmers to information & services throughout crop-cycle
4. Building upon, enhancing & integrating the existing ICT initiatives of Centre and
States
5. Enhancing efficiency & effectiveness of programs through process redesign
6. More effective management of schemes of DAC
7. Promoting a common framework across states

Services:
A total of 36 applications/portals have been developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India under NeGP-A and had adopted as per applicability in the state.

Site preparation and hardware installation status and computer training lab
ICT training centres have been set up along with hardware installed in both the centres :
a. SAMETI, Medziphema.
b. DAO’s office, Mokokchung.

For advisory, information and service delivery to the farmers, the department is determined to develop mobile apps for farmers during the year 2016-17 as per mobile app policy of Govt. of India.
